The #1 Best way to Kill Ants

The #1 Best way to Kill Ants

With over 10k views...  See my Video at https://youtu.be/CvG21UJGg2I

We're going to make the best ant killer that there probably is. We're using boric acid, it usually comes in an unmarked white container. You can get it at a pharmacy, in our area you can't get it in a pharmacy anymore, you can only get it in the pest control section at the hardware store. Ace, Home Depot etcetera.

First we mark our containers as "Poison," We even  mark the spoon, so nobody uses this. Using one teaspoon of sugar, table sugar, and one squirt of Hot Shot or boric acid. It's boric acid, no matter what it's called. One squirt of powder. Then a few drops of water. Stir it up real good. You're going to make a paste. If you spill remember it's poison, so you want to make sure you clean it up. It has sugar because the ants are going to crawl from all the neighbors, they're going to turn all your poison you just made covered with black ants, or whatever color ants you have, and they're going to carry it back to the queen.

Therefore, the whole colony will eventually die, but they are going to come from the neighbors, they're going to come from all over, so don't be surprised. It's kind of fun watching it all turn black, when they come and get it. I use a Gatorade lid. A large Gatorade lid or medium, whatever you have. Then I use the spoon I mixed it with and pour a little bit into the Gatorade cap. Some people use an index card or a piece of paper. It's better if it's a paste. Then you just go and put it, I like to put this inside the cabinet where the ants can find it, the pets cannot, and children cannot.

So I put it into the cabinet and close it up. I also put the leftovers in there too, and just leave it. It eventually dries up, and then you have to make another batch or take a screw driver and scrape it off and leave the powder. It actually is more potent then. Keep doing this until they are gone. For my area it is about 3-days, twice a day, morning and afternoon.

This one would be fine outside, in a place where cats are not going to go and get it. In my video I made it wrong by putting too much water in it. Do not put the paper cup you mix with under the water, put the spoon under the water to catch 2 drops, then pour in and stir to make paste.

So I hope that everybody learns from this, and has great success and fun watching all the ants come and get it. I have been using this since 1995. It works!

Financing Fun with Tracy, 1st time Buyers

https://youtu.be/JWDvgoFEoSg

Financing Fun... The Tracy Show,

How To Buy a House 1st time buyers.

Tracy Elman, Homesmart, REALTOR® & Tracy Pedevilla, Lender, Augusta Financial sit down and talk about info for first-time buyers. We discuss tips, loans programs, tax strategies, and grants.

Transcript: Tracy Elman: "Hi, we are the Tracys. I'm Tracy Elman with Home Smart." Tracy Pedevilla: "And I'm Tracy Pedevilla with Augusta Financial." Tracy Elman: "And we're here today at an open house and we're talking about finance for first time home buyers." Tracy Pedevilla: "Yes, there are programs out there for first time home buyers specific to help you out. We have CalHFA which is down payment assistance and we also have a first time tax credit for anyone who hasn't owned a home in 3 years you are considered a first time home buyer." Tracy Elman: "And what does a first time home buyer need to have in order to get one?" Tracy Pedevilla: "That is a great question because a lot of home buyers don't realize the amount of paperwork and documentation that does go into buying a first home. But to get pre-qualified, the basics are your two years tax returns, your two years W2's, some pay stubs, some bank statements and we can pretty much do the rest from there. We can get the full story, if you need anything else there's going to be a lot of hoops to jump through, there's going to a lot of T's to cross, a lot of I's to dot, but we will be there to hold your hand." "We are all 24/7, we're on our phones, we're on our emails, anything you need we'll be there." Tracy Elman: "Oh, that's great. As a realtor we need to be able to reach you." Tracy Pedevilla: "I'll be there for you, too, Tracy." Tracy Elman: "Great. Thank you, Tracy. So another question that people want to know is about the programs that are available to them as first time home buyers." Tracy Pedevilla: "Yes, so like I said, the tax credit is one of- we're the only lender in Santa Clarita that's offering this right now, and you basically get an additional 20 percent back on your taxes each year." Tracy Elman: "Oh, wow." Tracy Pedevilla: "So it's a great added benefit. I mean, owning a home in general is such a great tax break, but to have that extra 20 percent back really helps a lot of people out, and it's a great benefit. Like I said, only three years of not owning a home." Tracy Elman: "That's fantastic and not too long to wait. So any other tips or advice for first time home buyers?" Tracy Pedevilla: "Just know going into it that you're going to hate us at some point, but we will be your best friend at the end of it." Tracy Elman: "Okay." Tracy Pedevilla: "And you will have your beautiful dream home." Tracy Elman: "Great, and how do we reach you?" Tracy Pedevilla: "661-291-2232 is my direct line, or tracy@augustafinancial.com." Tracy Elman: "Great. And again I'm Tracy Elman at Home Smart Real Estate and we'll be seeing you soon." Local Doctor Cares for his Patients by Realtor Tracy Elman

Looking for a local specialist you can talk to? Dr. Sy Hassan will hear you and help you heal. How many doctors can you say will do that. This doctor gives a quick interview out of his busy schedule.

Tracy Elman:
Hi. This is Tracy Elman. I'm here with Dr. Hasan. He is going to give us a little capture of what he does throughout his day.

Dr. Hasan:
Hi there. I'm Sy Hasan. I'm really glad to shoot this video along with Tracy. Tracy has been a patient of ours for about two years now. Started my practice two years ago here in Santa Clarita. I inherited this practice from a Dr. Garcia, who had been here about five years. He brought it up to a very nice place. I'm proud to be one who took it over. Our practice is endocrine. We do all sorts of patients. We see little babies. I saw a baby who was about five days old just last week. We follow through to older age patients. We see people of all ages. We take care of diabetes, we take care of thyroid, we take care of hormone needs for women, we take care of people who have bone disease that's related to hormones.

Everything that's possibly could be done for your hormones is what we do here in our office. Really happy to be here. Wanted to share with people our location. It's in Santa Clarita. It's on Lyons Avenue, on Peachland rather, for the Lyons. We have a ... Available to anybody with wheelchair access. Our website is Paenewhall ... I'm going to make sure I get this right. Paenewhall.weebley.com. Our phone number is 6612534420. Again, I'm really grateful to everybody out there, and encourage everyone to come and give us a visit. Thank you Tracy. I'll give it back to you.

Tracy Elman:
Thank you doctor. I love having you as my doctor. Yes, I give you permission to go talk about me. What do you do when you're not a doctor?

Dr. Hasan:
Okay. Being a doctor takes up a lot of my time here at the office. I go to the hospital, I serve on committees in the hospital. Outside of that, I go hiking a lot. We have our dog, [Deeba 00:02:58], who I wish that you all could see. [Deeba 00:03:02] is part Husky, part Shepherd. She's got a split personality. Anybody who's a dog lover, that Shepherds are very loyal and obedient. Huskies are everything opposite of that. They like to go running off. She doesn't like being on a leash. But we take hikes every day.

I'll take about a 30-minute hike in the morning, about 20, 30-minute hike in the evening. We just enjoy spending time with him, my wife and I. On top of that, we have two ... Our great kids, 26 and 24, who are just the love of our lives, you could say. We enjoy spending time with them, go to the beach, play tennis, horseback riding. Our older son, he's a musician. We'll sit around either a camp fire or just around the dining table, and he can play us all sorts of music that he has helped compose. Our younger son enjoys doing everything there is, about stock market.

Tracy Elman:
Well, I enjoyed this talk. Thank you very much for taking the time out.

Dr. Hasan:
Thank you again, Tracy.

Tracy Elman:
You're welcome.

Dr. Hasan:
Bye.

Why I Love my REALTOR® Interview

Tracy Elman is not your average REALTOR®. Tracy has an interesting background full of things she has done. Not just done but got very good at them. She also cares about others, and you can tell she does.

Why did you become a real estate professional?

Back 31 years ago, I was the first one in my family to get my real estate license. I did because we had our house for sale and had a bad agent. Instead of getting a lawyer I went to real estate school. I asked all my questions and loved the class, so I stayed on and got my license. Then I loved the business. Things were different then. There wasn't the computers and technology. We wrote contracts with NCR paper and made mimeograph copies. We took checks and put them in the broker's trust accounts.

Who are some of your business idols and role models? And why?

Well, there was not that many people who networked so we didn't know the successful people other than working with them, word of mouth and bus benches. So I didn't have any. Now I do. My broker is a role model for me. He is extremely well known, well liked, gives back to the community and is an excellent coach. Cindy in my office is another role model for me. She has a big heart and is a great support for me. My husband and my son are great teachers.

What's the most memorable experience you've had with a client?

Just because I had them doesn't mean they were good memories. lol. I had many, but one was a Korean lady, and I went to East LA at night to see a house that almost fell through the unsteady warped kitchen floor. The house was on stilts down a cliff and was at the top of the hill. Gang members chased us downhill to the car, I got in, and she was not there yet. I started the car and let her in. We drove back to the valley where the car in front of us had parts of the car flying off and hit my car. There was no payphone until we got to North Hollywood. I called 911 and was on hold so long I hung up and left. That was it for me. I learned about boundaries.

What makes you stand out from other real estate professionals?

I do what many realtors don't or won't do. I also have the knowledge, that many do not have and designations and experience. I also help and care about people. It is not all about me or money. I genuinely care.

What do you do for fun?

Now I spend time with my husband and son. We visit the kids and grandkids often. We used to t-hunt. T-hunt stands for transmitter hunting where we would triangulate the signal to find a 4-wheel drive vehicle with a CB radio in a game of hide and seek. I also write books sold on Amazon and other stores. I have recorded audio books as a voiceover artist. I do my own audio and video editing. I have received many awards and medals for them.

What are your favorite things to do in the neighborhood?

I enjoy meeting new people, getting to know them, enjoying a glass of iced tea with them. I also love to video them telling old stories.

What are your favorite restaurants in the neighborhood?

I love so many of the places to eat here. I guess I just love food. In the last month, I have eaten at Bobs Country Meats, Saugus Cafe, Hook Burger, Red Lobster, IHOP, and Baby Tuna.

What are some odd requests you've had from clients?

Would I marry their son? I am married. Can I change the light bulb for them?

3 Things Successful People Do Because Life Happens

Life happens no matter what you do or where you are. You control your life. Why not make it go the way you want it to.

For all the successes in life, the failures are the biggest of life’s lessons. Embrace the results. Use them to your advantage. Remember the bad in good times and let it go. You can be successful if you do properly. Most successful people have mentors and coaches. They know it is okay to ask for help. In fact, it is more important to know where to get help than to know some of the answers.  Sometimes gratitude is a missing ingredient needed before confidence and self-esteem boost. Whatever your needs are with self-awareness with the right relationships bring on a successful combination of learning and educating yourself at your own pace. It then can click into place.

Why must I always test? Ahhhhhh Simple, so I don’t mess up because life happens. It sounds silly, but some people need help with daily goals for work or life. www.LifeHappensToMe.com in the contact section, a connection that has a place for questions. This is one of the reasons why I coach, to help those that need to ask questions, get ideas, and training and don’t know who to ask.

3 Things you can do now:

  • Make a business plan
  • Associate with people you want to learn from and are good influences
  • Get a Mentor or Coach

The Public School In Action Or Are They Asleep?

According to a recent article by Harold Pierce, in The Bakersfield Californian/TNS on Feb 12, 2016, Earlier this year a school district in Bakersfield, teachers are already complaining about the failure of the new program to basically eliminate general education.

Sick Joke? This may be the last generation of Education. Special Ed in some classes is nothing but day care. To put gifted and average kids in the same level as special ed will increase bullying and boredom and therefore more crime. They won't stop there. It is already becoming a nightmare. If this continues, the teachers and police won't be able to handle it. The true special needs kids will be harmed and they will become fearful, lack of confidence and deepening, lack of abilities as they age. They will not grow, learn or mature. They will learn the bad things. This is a travesty and a disaster in wait. This will  be a diseased community. It will spread if not repaired ASAP.

Who would want to live or raise kids in the Bakersfield community. They are encouraging violent behavior both in the students and in district employees. Merging special ed and mainstream ultimately will be hurting the job market, the housing market and increasing the jail market. Special needs kids that fall between the cracks or get setup will also land in jail.

The community needs intervention now. The school board can always relocate and be employed somewhere else meanwhile leaving the damage behind. Parents need to step up.

Special needs players hit the ice during annual festival in Valencia

Special needs players hit the ice during annual festival in Valencia

http://www.signalscv.com/section/36/article/147405/#.VrOmONeVRhs.blogger
This was an awesome weekend. The kids were interviewed for the papers and CBS, ABC, KCAL news. We had out of town guests & friends and a great celebration.

COMMON CORE UNIVERSE

Is it a common core universe? More moms and grandmas are talking about common core math than kids. And teachers are complaining too. I hear it a lot in general gatherings. My question is in 10 years which group will be better at math? Also IS it also teaching abstract thinking and problem solving skills? Or is it more dumbing down of America. I am furious about removing cursive from the curriculums. I was upset years ago when they removed phonics, art, drama, PE, music and now cursive writing. I think they have brought those back.
I would know. The outcome of not having phonics when I was in 1st grade messed me up. It was not put back into California schools until my kids were out of school. They had several failed and replaced curriculum methods, one was the whole reading approach and they also had this thing called “New Math” that most people did not understand. The blessing was that I sought help for my children when in the 3rd grade for them to learn reading, spelling and writing including cursive. My mom said I could not spell as an adult back then.
I was lucky enough to catch the news interview with our former state school superintendent of that time giving a genuine apology for removing phonics and a promise to get it back into the schools. Solution: I became a phonics specialist and learned by teaching. I taught my children and many others what the school should have done right the first time. If I learned it as a child perhaps I would be a scientist or MD. Too much time passed and it effected my confidence to progress during school and I hated to read or write. I can imagine what it does to the children. They are the leaders of tomorrow. The same people that will take care of us in nursing homes.
What is the Common Core? It is a standard for English and Math. It is meant to compete with the educational system in other countries. It is not easy for the initial concept to be understood by most. I will show an example here from  https://www.facebook.com/Strzala4Senate/videos/484185855099066/
The math problem must be written horizontal. After all lines are equaling a number by 5 or 10 and show the whole number in the beginning of the question, the second column is added up and IS the answer.
Instead of the vertical method, it is writen horrizontal.

43-13=___
13+ 2=15
15+ 5=20
20+10=30
30+10=40
40+  3=43

Division looks very similar and is taught using a lot of 1 and 10 and some 5 adding the middle like in the above subtraction example. The addition is the only one that makes sense to me it looks like pre-algebra and will ready the kids for algebraic factors. It is added up in the far right column. I can actually see a reason for it.
About cursive writing the generation today wont be able to write or read cursive and that means very few will be able to read old documents and family papers. Also many will be dependent on an interpreter for history and vital records, census’ and so much more. Haven't they thought this all through? Or is it an attempt to erase history? This reminds me of the 2006 movie Idiocracy, Where the entire country had Gatorade for tap water and people were just plain unintelligent.
It isn’t it ironic that now I am an Author, Narrator and Voiceover actor reading aloud and love it. With phonics it is easy. How many mathematicians will society gain with common core?
If you can, take a look at the photos in this Salon article with the check and the kids school assignment done by a parent.

The Giant Raises Up from Amazon

The Giant Raises Up from Amazon and I’m so excited about a new Wall Street Journal article that talks about Amazon opening up to four hundred brick-and-mortar bookstores in shopping malls. I’m so excited because perhaps my books that I wrote will be sold in the new physical Amazon bookstore. Let the kids know what a bookstore is. The proper way to hang out at the bookstore. These kids have never used a typewriter. There is so much that they have missed in order to enjoy the gain. Have you ever looked at a young person when they were making a choice to look something up in a physical book or the electronic version? I have and each time I see them go for the physical book if it’s going to be any length of time. It’s great to be able to pick up your smartphone and talk to it and get your answer right away, but if you really want to learn something wouldn’t you rather go page flipping?

Magic Mountain The back lot Spending time with my son

Magic Mountain The Back Lot Spending Time With My Son in the Santa Clarita Mountains. The wild ride in the west... #WildRide Actually this is Six Flags Magic Mountain and the thrill of discovery. The anxious waiting for kids of all ages. Another happy place.

My son and I have been writing all week stuck at home behind the computer. Time to get out and see the sun, breathe fresh air, and see the cars move. Oh how refreshing. We decided to just drive. We decided we without film our little Jaunt using Periscope for others to enjoy.

When we got to magic mountain they were closed. Another family was there and so disappointed. They had flagged us down and asked us why they were closed. The father said they were locals, and they just wanted to go for the day. I don't know why they were closed it's Tuesday. So we decided to film and take still pictures of the roller coasters we could see. Well they've been doing construction nearby, so of course I had to go and see where the road goes. That has always been fun. It was great exploring. We had an enjoyable couple hours.
