Weird Facts about Santa Clarita History




Have you ever heard of a drunk farm? I don't know about you, but I hadn't. It's far from a drunk tank. And the funny thing about this article is that I lived literally across the street from this location for four years and never knew anything about the history of this site.

In 1952 LAPD broke ground on building a drunk farm for alcoholic criminals. In 2017, that site is a water treatment plant, and the LAPD doesn't even jurisdiction here. We have L.A. Sheriff's Department. It is still a small town feel in Saugus, in Santa Clarita, California on Bouquet Canyon Road.
